I do not think it matters for her not being vegan. It does not affect you physically. My concern is the opposite. When the MAN is not vegan because when he "deposits" into his wife,, then she ends up getting what is in his blood stream, etc. and THAT would affect her. Your thoughts?

I went from low-carb animal-heavy lifestyle to full vegan in less than two weeks. 9 months ago now. :) Factory farming is definitely comparable to slavery and a holocaust.

This couple is dealing with a fundamental difference of opinion. When one thinks of all the other areas of potential disagreement, like finances, relatives, politics, sexual relations, childrearing, etc., a difference in dietary preference has to rank up there as very big burden in a marriage. I sincerely hope their love is strong enough to overcome it. I became a vegan late in life. My wife is still omnivore. After initial pushback, she has shown great creativity in the kitchen to accommodate both of us. I realize that my current veganism is not what she signed up for when we married almost twenty years ago. So I don't mind when she eats meat in front of me. I just concentrate on my own food!

thank you for this recipe, I didn't have the yogurt or flaxseed and I used olive oil instead of canola. and squeezed a half of lemon and only had brown sugar and omg these pancakes were so good. I didn't even need syrup. lol

It is nice to be able to 'choose'. Of course the animals don't get that chance to 'choose'. The interesting part is how the folks attempt to make a logical argument to minimise their own culpability. While 'baby steps' is a good description it still shows not how to stop torturing beasts but to make themselves feel better/somehow vindicated. Very interesting!

Sounds they’re more focused on tone policing than the actual content and substance of Gary’s speech. I feel like too many people criticize the character and messaging of vegans themselves, rather than the argumentation being presented. Why would someone be more upset by his style than the statistics and footage shown in the speech? Sounds like selective outrage to me. Many activists in history have been perceived as aggressive or preachy; it doesn’t mean they’re wrong. “I’m offended” is not an argument. Also, animals don’t NEED to be on the same level as humans in terms of intelligence or sentience in order to deserve moral treatment. As long as they feel pain and can suffer, there’s no justification for the commodification of their flesh and secretions. The largest dietetics associations in the US AND UK have demonstrated that we don’t need to eat animal products to thrive. Other comments have mentioned it, but even Holocaust survivors have made numerous comparisons between factory farming and concentration camps. Are you going to tell them they’re wrong or being insensitive?
